April Fools’ Fun

April Fools day was the biggest highlight for this week and tech companies did not stay away from the fun with the exception of Microsoft.
Nigeria’s very own Flutterwave hit the ground running with a tweet about a new means of payment “GlovePay”. The reviews made me think it was all a stunt, I mean which tech firm would build such a product for only iOS users in a country like Nigeria. Google also joined the fun with their jokes and whatnot.

Google Shutting Itself Down?

Is your favourite Google product getting killed ? There is currently no way to know. The internet is getting worried though. With thousands of hours for support, No dev wants to spend that to find their core platform goes away in a year. Google needs to look into this. Maybe create a Google Abyss … for all unsupported features. -BA


Google’s April Fools’ Game

Remember the Nokia snake game?
In celebration of April Fools’ Day 2019, Google added a snake game similar to the Nokia game to their maps app. There is also a stand alone website for those who don’t have the app. -EE


Food Delivery  Startup

Tagged the world’s greatest delivery empire, a company in China has built a start up that makes it cheaper for customers to simply order their food (30 minutes delivery) than going into the restaurant to buy. Delivery cost inclusive. They are leveraging on the power of group buying and potential of up-selling other products. Interesting play. -BA


5G is Here!

Samsung Electronics, on the 5th of April 2019, released the world’s the world’s first available smartphone with built-in fifth-generation communications, the Galaxy S10 5G after releasing the nationwide 5G services nationwide in South Korea. -EE
