The Business of Social Reputation

By Nnaemeka Nwosu

We can agree that the world, if not already is, but is getting to be global village. This was made possible via the internet. One major driving force of this, leveraging on the internet, is Social Media. Presently, practically everything about a person, an animal, a place or a thing can be found on social media.

That being said, we can go ahead to say that social reputation is how the general public perceives someone or a group of people, both online (social media) and in the physical environment (immediate community).

Where can your Social Reputation score be used?

At the moment, Social Reputation Scoring is already being utilized for various activities but the first that comes to mind is for Credit worthiness which is currently being used by Social Lender ( www.sociallenderng.com ) to ascertain if an individual requesting for a particular loan amount, is eligible.

Other areas where Social Reputation Scoring are/can be applied include;

Applying to a school
Applying for a new job
Brand Reputation
Real estate
As seen, Social Reputation Scoring can be used in various other fields.
